2012 Innovation Award
Call for entries
Excellence in purchasing and logistics solutions
Purchasing and logistics management both play a decisive role in optimising value chains. The trend towards lean production processes also means that companies are procuring more and more feedstock and services from external sources. Internal purchasing and logistics functions are consequently assuming growing strategic importance as the interface between internal consumers and external suppliers or service companies. Expert solutions secure global competitiveness and play a vital role in successful company performance. The BME has presented prizes for successful purchasing and logistics management since 1986. Awards are made for innovative performance and concepts which bring about sustained improvements in the efficiency of purchasing and logistics to generate significantly better business results.
Judging process
An independent jury will assess the entries and short list the best concepts. The companies with the most innovative solutions will be invited to make a presentation in Frankfurt. The jury will select the winner from among the group of short-listed companies. The chosen companies will present their concepts in Frankfurt. Concept presentation: September 2012, Frankfurt/Germany The official prize ceremony for the 2012 innovation award will take place during the "47th BME Symposium" in Berlin (November 7-9, 2012) as part of the plenary session event.
