Aims

The Provision of an efficient organisation to

  • Ensure the maintenance and the further development
  • Increase the diffusion rate

of the BMEcat as an international applicable standard for eBusiness.

Basic principles of the BMEcat organisation

The organisational concept is bulit on the following basic principles:

  • Integration of the BMEcat organisation into the structures of the BME
  • The supervision and marketing of all BMEcat activities are being carried out primarily by the BME e.V. in close collaboration with the ECC.
  • Purchasing Companies, suppliers, marketplaces, technology suppliers and participating organisations are supporting the domestic distribution and the spreading abroad through the consistent use of BMEcat at the adequate eBusiness applications.

Required features to achieve the aims

The support, further development and international distribution of BMEcat need three basic ranges of function:

  • A control function for questions of principle, particularly those concerning the positioning and further development of BMEcat, the cooperation with other oragnisations and standards, the international distribution as well as the financing.
  • A professional control function for requirements for alteration and further development of BMEcat.
  • A systems development function for the realisation of those requirements that are approved for the admission to the standard.

Concept of the organisation

BMEcat Steering Committee

The BMEcat Steering Committee is responsible for the strategy, the governing of the further development, the coordination, the financial budgeting and the distribution of BMEcat.

BMEcat Change Committee

The BMEcat Change Committee decides about the further development and the versioning of BMEcat within the context of the strategic direction given by the BMEcat Steering Committee.

The BMEcat Change Committee decides about the realisation (including the chronological order, priorisation, release scheduling aso.) or the rejection of the presented modification proposals within the budget given by the BMEcat Steering Committee

BMEcat Requirement Forum

The BMEcat Requirement Forum is made up of companies and persons, who have an interest in the further development of BMEcat and show their active support.

The membership in the BMEcat Requirement Forum requires a one-time registration fee and annual dues.

The task of the BMEcat Requirement Forum is the proposal and the discussion of, and the commeting on modification and development suggestions.

The moderation of the BME Requirement Forum is executed by the BMEcat Change Committee.

BMEcat system developer

The BMEcat Steering Committee chooses qualified service providers for the maintenance and the further development of BMEcat.

The BME office

The competence of the BME office is the operative realisation in the areas of marketing,
internationalisation and cooperation. The office is also the contact for all inquiries and for First Level Support.
