“Supplier and Buyer Matchmaking Meeting” in Beijing and Shanghai (中文)
Information for Buyers and Suppliers
Because of the increasing cost pressure and therefore the procurement demands of German /European companies in China, BME* is going to launch a “Quality Sourcing Program” to support their sourcing activities. The program will be started with 20 “Supplier and Buyer Matchmaking Meetings (SBMM)“ in 2009.
Target:
SBMM stands for Supplier and Buyer Matchmaking Meeting. It is initialized by German Procurement Association (BME*) and is a platform dedicaded to support Chinese and German (or European) companies to establish a long term supplier and buyer relationships. SBMM will be held on regular basis. It is aimed to assist German (European) companies to find high quality suppliers in China, and provide Chinese companies with the opporutity to develop/expand German (European) markets as well as to improve their international business capability.
The advantages of SBMM
1. Direct contact:
During SBMM, suppliers and buyers can communicate with each other face to face.
2. Indirect contact:
After participating a SBMM, supplier information will be added to the „BME supplier database“ for two years. „Remote“ buyers in Europe who are unable to participate the event will be able to view these information from the database. For trust reasons, BME representatives in Beijing could also provide their first impression/feedback if buyer wishes.
The buying companies participated SBMM could also leave their demands at SBMM platform for more suppliers to view.
Based on the information on hand, BME experts will match the right „pairs“ for potential cooperation after the meeting.
3. Know-how transfer
During the SBMM sessions, we will organize discussions on specific issues which occur frequently when German/European buyer and Chinese supplier are co-operating.
SBMM will especially benefit
1. small- or medium sized buyer and suppliers and
2. companies located far away from the information center.

1. the strong sourcing demands of our members in China and in different business areas; and
2. the profound experiences of our key staffs of BME in the sourcing area and their strong wish to serve suppliers and buyers.
Qualified Suppliers
BME welcomes especially qualified suppliers, who has following qualification:
- International qualifications (e.g. ISO; TUEV, etc.), or
- Audits by international companies, or
- Business relationships with European or international companies, or
- "Quick Check" of BME.

Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik (The English traslation: Association Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics).
