CEE Forum: Supplier search is running at high speed

After the successful matchmaking rounds of previous years, the 4th CEE Procurement & Supply Forum will take place in Prague on 26 October. At the top event, selected suppliers from the CEE region will meet German buyers.

The 4th CEE Procurement & Supply Forum in Prague is a network and knowledge platform for purchasing in Central and Eastern Europe. It also serves to arrange matchmaking of buyers and suppliers. In the run-up to the event, BME asked buyers for their profiles in order to bring together both parties in Prague with regard to their specific interests and needs.

This year, around 50 buyers have created a buyer profile. With this appraisal of interests, the BME Team International is currently looking for the right suppliers.

"Our supplier search is running at high speed," says Olaf Holzgrefe, Head of International Business & Affairs at BME. Research focuses on Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo. In total, BME expects some 250 suppliers. A list of these strong suppliers is given to each participant who logs on to the forum. If buyers see a potential match, they can select the suppliers to a pre-arranged meeting during the forum. If you want to meet suppliers without time constraints and in a more informal setting, you have the opportunity to book a "Meet & Greet Table" where suppliers can approach buyers independently.

The event will open with a panel discussion on the digital connection between CEE suppliers and German buyers. Further lectures address supplier management and relevant legal aspects. In the afternoon, the B2B matchmaking, Meet & Greet Tables as well as parallel workshops take place. Both formats can be booked individually. On 25 October 2017, as in previous years, a reception will also be held in the AHK Czech Republic in the run-up to the event.

Reviews from buyers to the CEE forum

"The CEE Supply Forum is very focused and helpful. On the basis of these events, I was able to obtain a very effective market overview of the participating countries of Eastern Europe in the short term, resulting in actual supplier relationships coming from the contacts made during these conferences. A highly exciting BME event and now an exciting date in my calendar."

Tom Trinkaus, Senior Buyer, GEA Refrigeration Germany GmbH

"We have been using BME very actively for a few years to further advance our internationalisation strategy in purchasing. Since we are active in the construction of special-purpose machines, a supplier search abroad is always associated with a relatively high outlay due to the low number of units and the high requirements. BME provides valuable support, which we gladly use in the form of market research, B2B matchmaking meetings and lectures, such as the CEE Forum. We have found suppliers that suit us very well, and we probably would not have found them without BME."

Arne Zühlke, Supplier Development & Internal Consulting, KROENERT GmbH & Co. KG

"Even if the list of suppliers is certainly indispensable for the success of the event, personal discussions lead to further activities and the establishment of a network which brings not necessarily short, but, more importantly, long-term success."
