6th Western Balkan Purchasing Initiative 2020: Express your interest to participate in this free of charge event!

Matchmaking live: German buyers negotiate with suppliers from the Western Balkans region. Within the scope of the 5th Purchasing Initiative Western Balkans more than 700 B2B talks took place in Dortmund in 2019. For the sixth consecutive year, German buyers will meet pre-selected suppliers from the Western Balkan region. Since 2015, the BME together with the AHKs from the region, have organised over 2500 individual B2B meetings. To find new suppliers, express your interest today.

For the first time the Western Balkan Purchasing Initiative will take place in Mannheim on the 16 June 2020. This successful matchmaking event is organised by the BME, AHKs in the region and the IHK Rhein-Neckar, on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). As in previous years, German buyers will meet pre-selected suppliers from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovenia, Northern Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo, which adhere to their purchasing needs. The commodity focus lies on metal construction, casting, forging parts and other direct material groups.

The aim of the initiative and the B2B conference is to build an efficient bridge between the markets.

“With over 700 scheduled B2B meetings, the event in 2019 was the most successful B2B event of the BME to date”, says Olaf Holzgrefe, Head of International and Affairs. The Initiative illustrates that proactive business development is effective, if you bring the right partners together. “As event organisers it is our combined target to assist German companies in gaining access to a qualified supplier market in the Western Balkan region” says Olaf Holzgrefe. What makes the mind-set of the BME and its partners so goal-oriented is that the focus continuously lies on the purchasing needs of its German counterparts. “Last years’ results, speak for themselves,” says Anke Koch, Project Manager of the event.

The “Western Balkans Purchasing Initiative” was a concept launched by the BME at the Federal Government's Western Balkans Conference on 28 August 2014. Initiators of the Western Balkans Purchasing Initiative are the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi), the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Federal Association for Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics. (BME). The event will take place as a project-related funding measure within the framework of the BMWi market development programme for SMEs on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy.

The needs of German companies is the focus of this initiative. Within the framework of the project, German buyers can effectively search for suppliers that meet their requirements in a result-oriented way.

Participation of the event is free of charge for buyers and suppliers.
