After Munich (2015), Dortmund (2016) and Belgrade (2017), the 4th Western Balkans Purchasing Initiative of the BME is taking place again in Germany in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and the DIHK 2018. On 19 June 2018, the venue of the sourcing initiative for the Western Balkans, which is now also known beyond Germany's borders, will be the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). Interested German companies from all sectors with sourcing interests in the fields of metal, plastics, rubber and electronics can take part.

In recent years, the initiative has attracted over 90 German companies and more than 1,000 participants to the three events held so far. Thus, the Western Balkan initiative of BME, BMZ, BMWi and AHK Serbia clearly exceeded the expectations of the organizers. The past events in Munich, Dortmund and Belgrade have provided a clear impetus,"says Olaf Holzgrefe, Head of International Affairs at BME. The BME's individual search process and efficient business initiation is a clear added value for buyers and companies from the Western Balkans.

The initiative shows that active business development works if you bring the right partners together at the same table. Our common goal in 2018 is to provide German companies with qualified access to the markets of the Western Balkans," explains Olaf Holzgrefe.  With the venue in the Main metropolis, the initiative is coming to Hesse for the first time. In 2015, the Purchasing Initiative Western Balkans was presented to the Federal Government in Berlin as part of the Berlin Process.

Many qualitative potentials are still unused

German buyers are permanently dependent on good partners. In the Western Balkans, there is still untapped potential just outside the EU. More than 90 companies have already established business relationships in the region as a result of the Western Balkans initiative. The aim is to bring together German buyers and the best possible partners from the countries of the Western Balkans as efficiently and professionally as possible. The BME focuses on the needs and requirements of its members and buyers. The past has shown that the needs of the Western Balkans can be met. The BME, BMWi, AHK Serbia and BME are looking forward to building a bridge again in 2018.

Join in - qualified discussions with suppliers

The BME relies on your input to select the right suppliers. Please complete a short profile by 9 March 2018. You can download the required form below. Even if the submission of the form for participation in this year's Western Balkans Purchasing Initiative is obligatory for you, this step only represents a non-binding statement of interest. The profile sends suitable companies from the Western Balkans to BME. When these suppliers are able to cover your needs, they signal their interest.

You select the suppliers you want to meet

After the supplier search has been completed, the BME will provide you with a list of interested suppliers. Only now do you decide whether you want to participate in the conference. As a buyer, you choose who you want to meet. The companies most in demand receive an invitation to the conference. For this meeting, the BME provides a table in the sense of a reverse fair, at which the suppliers meet with the purchasers in advance for scheduled meetings. Participation in the event is free of charge.
