AHKs and BME organise 1st Industrial Suppliers Forum 2020

On a virtual trade fair platform, German buyers can visit the exhibition stands of 130 industrial companies from a total of 16 European countries under the guidance of 13 AHKs. The International Division of the BME supports the pilot project and is actively involved in the preparation and implementation of the premiere event.

The 1st AHK Industrial Suppliers Forum 2020 will take place on 19 November as a virtual supplier fair. The premiere event is organised by the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) under the leadership of the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce. "13 AHKs from 16 European countries are participating in the initiative. Specifically, these are Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain," informs Dr. Lars Gutheil , Managing Director of the AHK Poland and project manager of the largest virtual supplier forum in Europe. The new trade fair platform offers participants the opportunity to find out online about the products and services of industrial suppliers from different European regions. "Our task is to ensure that the 130 or so exhibiting companies meet the high quality standards of German buyers. This is why we are working closely with the BME and the German trade fair companies as joint partners of our specialist event," Gutheil continues. The project also shows the constantly growing connection between the AHK network in many European countries and the BME. "We want to create a win-win situation in the crisis together," Gutheil concluded. "The Corona crisis has severely damaged the European supplier networks. For many of our member companies the realignment of their European business and supply structures now plays a central role. With our new hybrid event format, we want to create innovative demand-supply offers and bring together the needs of German buyers and European suppliers across national borders," says Jörg Buck , Executive Board Member of the AHK Italy and Europe spokesperson of the AHKs. "The 1st AHK Industrial Suppliers Forum 2020 also opens up interesting business opportunities for our member companies. With the help of the AHK partner network, they can contact local representatives of the Chambers of Commerce Abroad in each of the 16 participating countries," emphasises Olaf Holzgrefe , Head of International and Affairs of the German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME). Another real key value is that the participating exhibitors have been selected and checked by the AHKs beforehand. "Within the framework of their project cooperation, BME, trade fair companies and AHKs create a close alliance between demand and quality - and this in a supply-oriented rather than a demand-oriented form," Holzgrefe continues. With its trade fair approach, the planned online event closes the gap to the BME's successful B2B projects in various markets. Holzgrefe: "In our classic matchmaking projects with the AHKs, the focus is otherwise always on purchasing needs. Here we present outstanding suppliers and thus offer our members a different dialogue access to the markets". Save the Date:
