IFPSM World Summit 2018

Purchasing experts from all over the world are expected at the IFPSM World Summit 2018 in Helsinki, Finland. The international event will take place from 26 to 29 September. The World Summit will focus on “Procurement in the 2020s: the new role of purchasing“. Top-class speakers such as Geraint John, Research Vice President of Gartner, Josip Tomasevic, Vice President and CPO, Global Purchasing and Materials Management of AGCO, Ingrid De Doncker, CEO of iDDea or Prof. Michael Henke of Fraunhofer IML offer new approaches for developing your own company and purchasing function.

The topics covered include the influence of megatrends on procurement in the 2020s, current developments in the global economy, data security in the supply chain and the influence of digitalization on purchasing competencies. Horst Wiedmann, CEO of the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, talks about the future of procurement. 

The World Summit is organised by the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) in cooperation with the Finnish Association for Purchasing and Logistics (LOGY) and combined with LOGY's traditional Sourcing Day. The event takes place at Helsinki, Tallinn and Tampere in Finland and Estonia. In 2018 IFPSM celebrates its 45th anniversary. Today, the umbrella organisation represents 45 national associations from all regions of the world with a Community network reaching over 250,000 professionals.
