The South African Aerospace Maritime and Defence Export Council (SAAMDEC) was established in 2015 by the Department of Trade and Investment and Competition (the dtic) and Aerospace Maritime Defence Industries Association (AMD) for the express purpose of facilitating exports for the defence industries sector, to create a favourable local environment exports and to deepen the South African Defence Industries (SADI) market penetration of the Global Defence market.
