Dr Helena Melnikov appointed CEO at BME

The German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) welcomes its new Chief Executive Officer: Dr Helena Melnikov (39) took office as the new CEO of the BME group on 6 September 2021.

Dr Melnikov had been Chief Executive Officer of the Waren-Verein of the Hamburger Börse e.V. and Managing Director of its affiliated trade associations since 2014. Prior to this, Melnikov, who holds a PhD in commercial criminal law and completed part of her legal education in Moscow, was employed by the Bundesverband Großhandel, Außenhandel, Dienstleistungen e.V. (BGA, Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services) in Berlin as Head of the Legal and Competition Department and Head of Agricultural Policy. Dr Melnikov is fluent in German, English and Russian. Interim Managing Director Dr Hans Jörg Eyrich will continue to provide his services to the BME and Dr Melnikov for a transitional period. This will enable a smooth handover of business and also ensure that ongoing projects are successfully handed over or completed in line with the association's objectives. Within the first days after taking office, the new Managing Director will personally introduce herself to the BME executive board, to the BME regions and to the staff at the BME headquarters in Eschborn.
